Recognizr combined Augmented reality and Face recognition
Sweden based company TAT, recently introduced their beta product called Recognizr. The application, will combine Augmented reality and Face recognition technology and connect it into social network. Sure that face recognition technology ain’t new, the Law Enforcement agency in developed country such as the UK and the US already used it for quite some times, but the thought of having it in your mobile device is a new concept.
The picture shown above should give you some ideas on how it works. Basically you will need your phone’s camera to identify the person’s face then the software will match the picture to a database, when it found a match it will show you you that person’s social network account, from facebook, twitter, etc.
There’s a debate going on about whether this app can invade your privacy, but you shouldn’t worry about that, cause in their business model TAT shows that people who wants their face matched using this app, should register themselves first on TAT systems. So it’s up to you now… do you want your face easily recognized by others? wait until the final version app comes out for you to try.
Meanwhile, let’s watch videos on how this will actually work

i came across interesting topic about medical records here
http://personama.blogspot.com/2010/05/nhs-loses-thousands-of-medical-records.html
i was wondering, what if we use the technology i mentioned on the article, to pull out people medical report? Off course the apps won’t be available publicly, but think about how useful it is when it’s used on a hospital. Save some times on typing people name and NHS account number maybe?
share your thought…
I am just wondering if there are any security issues when it comes into augmented reality?
